By Ferry

By far the most popular way to access Lopez Island is to ride the Washington State Ferry from Anacortes, WA.  An easy, scenic 30-minute ride, it’s the first island stop on the way to the San Juan archipelago.   Ferry departures vary depending upon the season and day of the week, so be sure to research your trip early and purchase tickets in advance.  Summer is extremely busy!

Directions – Take exit 230 from Interstate 5 in Burlington.  Turn west on Highway 20 until you reach Anacortes. Follow the signs to the ferry landing.  On Lopez Island turn slightly left onto Ferry Rd. Turn right on Fisherman Bay Rd and follow 3 miles to the resort.

Anacortes Parking for walk-ons – The Lopez Islander Resort offers free parking on the Anacortes side and a complimentary shuttle once on the island to the resort.  It’s a less expensive and easy way to travel.  Call on your travel day to notify us (360-468-2233).  Park at Billy Rays restaurant parking lot on the right side of the hill above the ferry terminal.  Fill out an envelope with your name and stay dates and place in drop box.  Walk down the hill to the terminal and board.  There is a waiting area with benches.  The Islander shuttle will pick you up when the ferry arrives in Lopez.  The shuttle service also includes transportation back to the ferry upon your departure.

By Boat

Boat owners will find the Lopez Islander Resort Marina in Fisherman Bay a comfortable place to moor.  The solid docks rise and fall with the tides and offer water and power hook ups, good lighting, and an easy stroll to the resort amenities, dining, lounge, pool, and laundry.  The marina store offers fuel, fishing supplies, maps, boat necessities and food.  The Marina is a popular gathering place with boaters to rendezvous or stay the summer. View the Lopez Islander Marina for safe navigation to enter the harbor.  Larger yachts should enter and leave in the deep-water area and watch the tidal charts.
